Ben Hammersley is editor in chief of Conde Nast's Wired UK, a futurist, writer, promoter of new digital technologies, technology ambassador of the British Prime Minister.

The world's expert "figures" of the international level became known for the first time when in 2002 he installed on the window of his home a point of wireless Internet access, which could be connected while sitting in a cafe nearby. There, Ben Hammersley worked on the book. At some point, he expanded his Internet for all comers and did not fail to inform his neighbors about it with the help of a specially designed symbol. On the wall of his house Hammersley painted chalk two crescents, looking in different directions - this meant that the access point was open and free.
